Cooking Instructions
- 1
Sift flour and add the rest of ingredients - yeast, sugar, salt, melted butter - except water
- 2
Add water after thoroughly mixing step 1 ingredients and Knead through until everything is nicely combined
- 3
Your dough must not be watery nor stiff. Cover the dough and allow it to rise for at least an hour
- 4
Knead again after an hour and grease enamel dishes (dough is enough for 2 small dishes) with cooking oil. You can also use normal mugs (just grease them with cooking oil)
- 5
Fill the cups halfway through with the dough and the same goes with the enamel dishes.
- 6
Fill a large pot with boiling water(enough to cover the mugs halfway through). Insert your mugs into the pot of boiling water and boil for at least 40min before checking if the dumpling is cooked through. Insert a skewer into the dumplings, if it comes out clean then the dumplings are ready.
- 7
NB: Ensure that the water does not run out after 40 min(you can add more hot water to the pot)

Steamed Vegetable Bread Steamed Vegetable Bread
I tried making steamed bread with my favourite brand of vegetable juice. The vegetable juice gives the bread a lovely colour! The steaming time will vary depending on the size of the cupcake moulds or the amount of mixture. Steam for about 10 minutes first then check the bread. Adjust the steaming time if necessary. Chewy Steamed Bread Chewy Steamed Bread
I had leftover snow cone syrup and leftover pumpkin paste and wondered if I could use these up in the steamed bread. It is hard to mix the mayonnaise and water, so I recommend adding a small amount of water at a time. Personally, I mix them all at once even though it is hard to do. Either ways would make the bread fluffy and chewy. Also, you will not taste the mayonnaise at all, so don't worry. Black Soybean Steamed Bread Black Soybean Steamed Bread
Kuromame (sweetened black soybeans) are a standard item for oshogatsu New Year's feasts. Since I love them, every year, I buy the large black soybeans from the Tanba-Sasayama region, and simmer them for 6 to 8 hours. But every year, I have leftover liquid from stewing them. It's supposed to be good for your health, but since it's full of sugar, it doesn't seem right to drink it. I usually toss it out with regret since it seems wasteful, however, last year, at New Year's, when making basic steamed bread, I substituted the milk and sugar with the leftover liquid and they turned out great! The key to making these is the same as basic steamed bread. Adjust the amount of sugar depending on the sweetness of the liquid you have. Add a tablespoon of sugar if it's not sweet enough. If you don't have a cup of liquid, substitute with milk. When mixing, don't stir too much. For those who don't have a steamer, boil a small amount of water in a sauce pan, then set a bowl or plate inside, and steam one by one. Test the recipe with half the amount first. Recipe by Shirufi- cookpad.japan -

Steamed Bread with Rice Flour Steamed Bread with Rice Flour
Steamed bread made with rice flour instead of wheat flour makes bread that doesn't go hard as quickly, so I recommend this method. After a few experiments I tried adding more sugar to this recipe to improve the flavour. When steaming the bread, please make sure the steamer is steaming before adding the bread.Steaming the bread over high heat will give them a nice texture. You can make 4 muffin cups instead if you'd prefer. in that case, steam them for 15 minutes. Puffy Steamed Bread Puffy Steamed Bread
I wanted to create a recipe for a snack I could make easily with my children.Just mix it up and steam. If using a frying pan to steam the bread, use a deep one so that the tops of the puffed up bread won't get stuck to the kitchen towel. If you're using regular or extra-rich milk, I think you can increase it to 160 ml.
