Ingredients

  2. To soak & grind
  3. 1 cupIdli Rice
  4. 1/2 cupToor dhall
  5. 1/2 cupChanadhall
  6. 5-6Red chillies
  7. To mix in adai batter
  8. 3Onions finely chopped
  9. 6/7Curry leaves
  10. As neededMoringa leaves
  11. 1/4 tspAsafoetida
  12. 1/4 tspTurmeric
  13. As neededSalt
  14. Avial
  15. 1Carrot
  16. As neededBeans
  17. 1Potato
  18. 1Raw banana
  19. As neededBroad beans
  20. As neededOr any vegetables of your choice expect sticky like lady's fingr
  21. 1/2 cupCurd
  22. To grind for avial
  23. 1 cupCoconut
  24. 1/2 tspCumin
  25. 4-5Green chillies
  26. 1/2 tspToor dhall
  27. To temper for avial
  28. 1/2 tspMustard
  29. 1/2 tspJeera
  30. 5/6Curry leaves
  31. 1 pinchAsafoetida

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak and grind the rice toor dal & chana dal for 3 hours and grind coarsely and rest it for an hour.

    Now add onions, curry leaves, moringa leaves, turmeric, asafoetida to the batter & mix well & now adai batter is ready

    FOR AVIYAL cut all the vegetables

    Cook all the vegetables in an open pan or pressure cooker with salt & water well

    Grind coconut green chillies cumin & toor dhall and add the paste to the cooked vegetables

    Mix well and boil for 5 minutes finally add a cup of curd and switch off the stove so avial is ready

    Have wit as dinner or fr breakfast it is filling and healthy I also like to have it with jaggery & some leftover vatha kuzhambu.
