Ingredients

1 hour
10 servings
  • 1medium sized mackerel
  • 1bulb of onion
  • 3medium red ball pepper
  • pinchthyme
  • teaspooncurry
  • to tastesalt
  • to tasteseasoning
  • vegetable oil for frying to
  • for the dough
  • 650 gramsflour
  • 2 tablespoonsugar
  • 2 teaspoonsalt
  • pinchthyme
  • 1egg
  • halftablespoon of yeast
  • Tamarind juice
  • 3-4 piecestamarind
  • 1medium sized cucumber
  • 2-3medium size lime
  • leavesmint
  • 1 teaspooncloves
  • 1medium sized ginger
  • flavour/sugar (i used pineapple and coconut) optional

Steps

    Boil your mackerel with a pinch of seasoning and salt and pepper with thyme

  2. 2

    Set aside once done and debone the fish..then mash it with a fork

  3. 3

    Fry your onion till Translucent and add the mackerel into the onion add seasoning again if you wish

  4. 4

    Stir fry on low heat then set aside

  5. 5

    For the tamarind it is advisable to soak overnight to get the flavour out

  6. 6

    Blend the tamarind on a high powered blender to remove pulp from seeds and set aside

  7. 7

    Blend the cucumber, ginger, cloves, and also set aside

  8. 8

    Mix the mixture together and sieve out the dirts..add your lime into it(to get maximum juice you can soak your lime in hot water first)..then refrigerate

  9. 9

    For the dough..pour all the ingredients into a bowl and mix with little water and get a firm mixture..it shoul not be watery..

  10. 10

    Cover it and let it rise for at least five minutes

  11. 11

    Roll out your dough, fill it with the fillings and cover it lacing the end with water so it doesn't open when frying

    Fry till light Brown

    Serve it hot with your ice cold juice..enjoy🥂🍴
