Ingredients

10-15 min
  • 500 gmsTomatoes
  • 10-12Dry red chilli(according to your palate)
  • As per taste Tamarind, big gooseberry size
  • 2 clovesGarlic (without skin)
  • 2-3Curry leaves
  • 1/2 tspCoriander seeds or Dhaniya
  • 1/2 tspJeera
  • 1/4 tspMethi or fenugreek seeds
  • 1/4 tspMustard seeds
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1Onion, small size
  • As required Oil to saute

Steps

10-15 min
  1. 1

    Soak the tamarind in warm water before you start the process.

  2. 2

    Saute the dry red chilli, dhaniya, jeera, methi and mustard seeds with a tsp of oil in a pan till crisp and take aside.

  3. 3

    To the same pan, add oil enough to saute the tomato and saute the tomato, garlic and curry leaves till no water is left.

  4. 4

    Cool the mix and grind the chilli mixture, sauteed tomatoes mix and tamarind to a chutney with salt.

  5. 5

    Dice the onion into big chunks and grind it for 2-3 secs. Add the onion to the chutney and tomato Chutney is ready to be served with any food hot.
