Ingredients

3 servings
  1. 1 cupDaliya
  2. 1/3 cupYellow Moong Dal
  3. 1Carrot, finely chopped
  4. 5Green Beans, finely chopped
  5. 1/2 cupGreen Peas
  6. 1Onion, finely chopped
  7. 1Tomato, finely chopped
  8. Handfulchopped Coriander leaves
  9. 1 tbspGhee
  10. 1/2 tspMustard seeds
  11. 1/2 tspCumin seeds
  12. 1 pinchAsafoetida
  13. 1/4 tspKashmiri red chilli powder
  14. 1/4 tspGaram Masala powder
  15. 1/4 tspTurmeric powder
  16. to tasteSalt

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Wash and Soak dal with enough water for 15 mins. Keep dry roasted Daliya and Chopped vegetables aside.

  2. 2

    Heat ghee/oil in a pressure cooker, add hing, cumin seeds, mustard seeds. Let it crackle, then add onion, saute for 2 mins. Add tomatoes too and cook till mushy.

    Now add all vegetables, saute for 2 mins. Add Daliya and soaked dal too, mix well and satue for 2 more mins. Then add 3 cups of water and boils it. Close the lid and cook to 3 whistles.

    Vegetable daliya khichdi is ready. Serve with curd, papad and pickle.
