Ingredients

30minutes
6 servings
  • As required, chaat masala
  • As required, ghee
  • 1/2 tbsp.black pepper powder
  • 1 1/2 tbsp.yogurt
  • 1/4 cupfine breadcrumbs
  • As required, cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 kgground chicken
  • 2onions, minced
  • 1 tbsp.green chilli paste
  • 1 tbsp.ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tbsp.chilli flakes
  • 1 tbsp.coriander seeds, crushed
  • 1 tbsp.coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp.cumin powder
  • 1/2 tbsp.garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp.turmeric
  • 1egg
  • To taste, salt
  • 1/2 tbsp.cumin seeds, roasted
  • 1 tbsp.dry fenugreek leaves (kasuri methai)

Steps

30minutes
  1. 1

    In a bowl add all the ingredients except oil, chaat masala, and extra breadcrumbs. Knead well.

  2. 2

    With wet hands, make a ball of the ground chicken mixture and roll in breadcrumbs.

  3. 3

    Place the ball on cutting board and gently flatten it out. Lift with the help of spatula and place in breadcrumbs. Coat both sides.
    Make remaining champs in similar manner.

  4. 4

    Heat ghee on tawa (flat griddle) or a flat pancake pan or frying pan. If using tawa, place the champ on the edge and gently slide on champ in ghee and fry till one side is golden and flip. Cook till golden.

  5. 5

    Slide the cooked champ back to the edge and slide another into the ghee.
    Cook all the champs in similar way.

  6. 6

    Serve the chicken champs sprinkled with chaat masala along with mint chutney and salad.

  7. 7

    Serve as is or use in burger, sandwich.
