Ingredients

40 mins
Makes 10 or 12 cutlets
  • cantuna (185gm)
  • 3medium potatoes, boiled and mashed (if you want best result so boiled potato day before)
  • 1small onion finely chopped
  • 2 Tbsppeas fresh or frozen
  • 2 Tbspfinely chopped carrot
  • 2 Tbspsweetcorn fresh or frozen
  • 3 Tbspchopped coriander
  • 1 Tbspchopped mint (optional)
  • 2green chillies chopped
  • 1/2 tspsalt or to taste
  • 1/2 tspcumin powder
  • 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  • 1/2 tspred chilli flakes (for extra spice, optional)
  • 1/4 tspblack pepper powder
  • 2 Tbspcornflour
  • juice of half a lemon
  • 🌻For Coating:
  • 1beaten egg
  • as neededPlain flour
  • as neededBreadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

Steps

  1. 1

    Drain the tuna from the can in a strainer and set aside.

    Put the mashed potatoes in a bowl, add the drained tuna, and all others cutlets ingredients and spices. Mix everything well and give it a taste. Adjust salt/spice or lemon if needed.

    Shape round flattened cutlets first cutlets dust in plain flour then Dip each one in beaten egg then coat in breadcrumbs. Shallow fry on both sides until golden and crispy.

    Drain onto dish towels and serve with your favourite dip / sauce
