Ingredients

  1. ingredient for outer covering:
  2. 1 cupmaida
  3. 2 tbspghee
  4. 1/8 tspOrange colour
  5. as neededOil for frying
  6. For syrup :
  7. 3/4 cupsugar
  8. 1/2 tsplemon juice
  9. For stuffing :
  10. 3/4 cupkhoya
  11. 2 tbsppowder sugar
  12. 1/2 tspcardamom powder
  13. 2-3 tbspchopped dry fruits

Cooking Instructions

    Crumble khoya and roast 2-3 min off the flame.

    Add powder sugar, nuts &cardamom powder.mix well.

  3. 3

    Take a maida in mixing bowl.add ghee & Orange food colour. First mix this well to resemble bread crumbs.

    Add water little by little to form a smooth non sticky dough. Set aside to rest.

    Take sugar in a pan, add water to it. Heat it up.

  6. 6

    Boil until it reduces and sticky syrap. No need to check for string consultancy. Set aside.

    Now knead the dough well.roll to a thin sheet, cut with lid.

    Take circle and cut to get pattern like this. Now take 1 more circle and cover with 1st circle.

    Add 2 tsp stuffing in the centre, and fold.to get pattern like this Gujiya.

    Heat oil in a kadhai add 2-3 gujiya at a time. Fry until golden brown. Cook in a low medium flame.

    Drain and then add it warm sugar syrap.turn over and let it soak 5 minutes.

    Then remove it from syrap and arrange to plate and garnish with kesar and dry fruits.
