2 servings
  1. 1 BagChicken Strips
  2. 1egg
  3. 1 tablespoonslight soy sauce
  4. 1 Cupself raising flour
  5. For the BBQ sauce:
  6. 1/2 cupketchup
  7. 3 tablespoonsWorcestershire sauce
  8. 1 tablespoonHP/Brown sauce
  9. 2 tablespoonshoney/golden syrup
  10. 1 tablespoonbrown sugar
  11. 1/4 teaspoonTabasco/Cayenne pepper
  12. 1 teaspoonsweet paprika
  13. 1 teaspoononion salt
  14. 1/2 teaspoongarlic salt
  15. 2 tablespoonslemon juice
  16. 100 mlcola

Cooking Instructions

20 mins
  1. 1

In a bowl I whisked up 1 egg and 1 tablespoon of light soy sauce. Then coated all the chicken strips in the egg wash. Then in another bowl I added some self raising flour, salt & pepper and added the chicken strips. Then covered it in some more self raising flour. Tossed it around a bit so all the chicken was covered in the flour, then used a sieve to remove all the excess flour. Then I deep fat fried the pieces for about 4 minutes or until golden brown and crispy at a temperature of 375°F (190°C).

  2. 2

I make my BBQ sauce with ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, honey/golden syrup, brown sugar, Tabasco/Cayenne pepper, paprika, onion & garlic salt with some lemon juice & a splash of cola. Then cook the sauce until it is fairly thick and the vinegary taste isn't too strong. The longer you cook the sauce the less vinegary it will taste.

  3. 3

Make sure to cover all the chicken strips in the sauce.

  4. 4

    Cook for a few minutes.

  5. 5

    Then server
