Ingredients

  • 2 cupwheat flour
  • 1/4 cup besan
  • 1 tspRed chilli powder
  • 2chopped green chilles
  • 1 tspginger paste
  • 2 tbspoil
  • 1 tspcumin seeds
  • 1/2 tspcarom seeds /ajwain
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  • 1 cupfresh fenugreek leaves chopped (methi leaves)
  • 1 tspsugar (opt)
  • 1/2 cupyogurt/dahi
  • to tasteSalt
  • as neededWater
  • As neededOil or ghee for frying theplas

Steps

  1. 1

    In a large mixing bowl add all the ingredients and add enough water and prepare like chapati dough

    Now pinch a medium sized ball dough,roll & flatten it.

  3. 3

    Further roll it in a thin circle like chapati

    Now on a hot tawa place the rolled thepla and cook for a minute

  5. 5

    When the base is partly cooked, flip the thepla, also brush some oil/ghee

  6. 6

    Once fried nicely from both the sides remove on a plate

  7. 7

    Similarly fry rest theplas

  8. 8

    Theplas are ready to serve, serve thepla with pickle or plain yogurt
