Sangria with Vanilla
Here's another way to make sangria, with a unique and delicious result.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
In a saucepan, heat the diluted peach juice. (If using peach nectar, you can skip this step.) Dissolve the white sugar and vanilla sugar in the juice along with the cinnamon stick and vanilla bean. Pour the syrup into a large bowl, as you'll mix everything here.
- 2
Add the red wine and the tablespoon of vanilla extract. Stir well so the syrup doesn't settle at the bottom.
- 3
Cut the three fruits and add them to the bowl, squeezing a bit to release their juices.
- 4
Let it sit for 4 hours at room temperature, then refrigerate overnight. Serve very cold, either over ice or with lemon-lime soda.

Authentic Sangria with Red Wine Authentic Sangria with Red Wine
I wanted to make sangria with additive-free wine and organic fruits.Banana makes sangria cloudy, but also very tasty. If you'd like your sangria to stay transparent, omit it (I tried to wrap banana with parchment paper this time as an experiment). Add mango or papaya (these tend to be a bit expensive, so frozen ones are okay) for a tropical flair. A simple Cabernet Sauvignon would be ideal for this. Basically, though, you can use any kind of wine because you add lots of fruits anyway. Whenever you open a new bottle and you don't like it, try making it into a sangria.
