Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsmurmura or puffed rice
  2. as neededFarsan (salty snacks or mixture which contains sev,papdi etc)
  3. 1big finely chopped onions
  4. 2finely chopped tomatoes
  5. 1big boiled potato
  6. As requiredFinely chopped coriander
  7. 1 teaspoonchat masala
  8. 1 teaspoonlemon juice
  9. For chutney:
  10. 2-3green chillies
  11. 1/2 inchsize ginger
  12. 1/2 cupCoriander leaves
  13. 1/4 cupMint leaves
  14. 3-4 tablespoonsTamarind pulp
  15. 2 tablespoonsjaggery
  16. 2dates soaked in water
  17. 1/4 teaspoonred chilli powder
  18. 1/4 teaspoonblack salt
  19. 1/2 teaspoonsalt
  20. 1/4 teaspoonjeera (cumin) powder
  21. 6-8 tablespoonsswater for grinding
  22. For garnishing:
  23. As requiredFinely chopped Coriander leaves
  24. 3 tablespoonsSev

Cooking Instructions

    To prepare Chutney.Take all the ingredients listed in the Ingredients column under 'For Chutney'. Now add all these in a mixer jar and grind it to a smooth and fine paste.

    Keep the murmura,farsan,chopped onion,tomatoes.Chop the boiled potatoes and assemble all other ingredients before you begin.

    In a big bowl add boiled chopped potatoes,chopped onions,tomatoes,add the required amount of chutney.Remaining chutney can be stored in fridge for atleast 3 to 4 days.

    Now add chat masala,1/4 teaspoon black salt to it.Add lemon juice and mix very well.

    Now add murmura,1/2 cup or more quantity of farsan.With a spoon mix the bhel together and be quick.

    Serve bhel immediately in a bowls or small plates.Top up or garnish with Sev and coriander leaves.If you don't serve immediately then it will become soggy and you can't enjoy it.So you have to serve it very quickly.
