Mix Dal mangode are quick and easy to prepare and make a perfect snack combination with evening tea, especially during the monsoon. This is my one of the most favorite food as they are crispy from outside and soft inside.
The ground mixed lentils are mixed with onion and flavourful spices and then fried to perfection. Must try recipe.

Steps

Soaking - 2 hours, cooking - 10 minutes
  1. 1

Wash and soak all the lentils /dal for 2 hours.

  2. 2

Thereafter, strain the dal and grind them coarsely in a mixer, try not to add water while grinding.

  3. 3

Take the mixture out in a big mixing bowl and add finely chopped onion, green chillies, coriander leaves, ginger, coriander seeds, fennel seeds, soda, salt and curry leaves and mix well.

  4. 4

The consistency of the batter should be thick.

  5. 5

Meanwhile, heat oil in a wok for frying.

  6. 6

Now take a lemon sized batter and make a ball/mangode or you can make a round shaped vada on your palm and slide it carefully into the hot oil.

  7. 7

Fry the mangode in batches of 6-7, on a medium flame until it turns golden brown in colour and crisp.

  8. 8

When done, take them out on an absorbent paper.

  9. 9

Delicious and crispy mix dal mangode are ready.

  10. 10

Sprinkle the chaat masala and immediately serve with spicy mint coriander chutney and tamarind chutney along with tea.
