Kadhi is popular north India dish,made with besan and dahi as main ingredients along with various spices and pakodas dipped in it as kadai is made from yoghurt as the base, it has a cooling effect. Addition of pakoras make this dish more filling and delicious 😋 serve it hot with steamed rice or jeera rice 😋

Ingredients

4-5 person
45-50 minutes
  1. 400 gmsTo make curd mixture:- curd
  2. 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  3. 1/2 tspChilli powder
  4. 1/2 tspGaram masala
  5. 1 pinchasafoetida powder
  6. 1 tspSalt
  7. 1/4 cupBesan flour
  8. 3 cupsWater
  9. To make pakora :-
  10. 1 cupBesan flour
  11. 1/4 tspTurmeric powder
  12. 1/2 tspChili powder
  13. 1/2 tspAjwain
  14. 1/2 tspSalt
  15. Onion 1 thinly sliced
  16. Chopped ginger
  17. Green chilli 2 chopped
  18. Water
  19. To make kadhi:-
  20. 2 tspOil
  21. 1/2 tspCumin seeds
  22. 3Red chilli
  23. 1 pinchasafoetida powder
  24. leavesFew curry
  25. 1 tspGarlic
  26. Onion 1 thinly sliced
  27. Curd mixture
  28. Pakora
  29. leavesCoriander

Cooking Instructions

    Making curd mixture:- in a bowl take curd.whisk it well till smooth

  2. 2

    Add 1/4 cup of gram flour,red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder and salt to the whisked curd

  3. 3

    Stir and mix everything again

    Add water and stir again

  5. 5

    Stir very well to make a smooth mixture without lumps

    Making onion pakora :- add the gram flour in a bowl add turmeric powder,red chilli powder, ajwain/carom seeds, and salt or as required

    Add thinly sliced onions, chopped ginger, green chilli, mix everything well

  8. 8

    Add water to make a thick batter

    Heat oil for deep frying drop the pakora batter in the oil

  10. 10

    Fry till pakoras are crisp and a plate lined with tissue paper and keep them aside

    Making kadhi :- in another Pan or kadai heat some oil add the cumin seeds, Fenugreek seeds, red chilli and a pinch of asafoetida, curry leaves and stir well

    Add chopped ginger, chopped garlic, saute for a minute

    Add chopped onion and green chilies

  14. 14

    Saute the onion till they turn translucent

  15. 15

    Then add the curd mixture. Stir well

  16. 16

    Bring the kadhi to a boil.boil the kadhi for about 25 minutes

    Now add the onion pakoras and coriander leaves in the kadhi and stir well

  18. 18

    Let the onion pakodas be soaked in the kadhi for 5-10 minutes before serving

    Serve kadhi pakora hot with some steamed rice topped of with ghee

  20. 20

    You could also have kadhi with rotis or parathas.however the combo of kadhi with rice is very popular and tastes the best 🥰🥰🥰👌👌👌👌
