Ingredients

1hr
3 servings
  1. 500 gramsrice
  2. Ginger
  3. Garlic
  4. 2medium sized onions
  5. Meat
  6. Spices-1 royco cube and 1tablespoon pilau masala (whole)
  7. I litre of water
  8. Potatoes (optional,I love mine with it)cooking oil
  9. Tomato paste

Cooking Instructions

    In a pot, add in a generous amount of oil followed by a mixture of ginger and garlic paste and then give it a stir,add in diced. Onions and stir as well.

    Add pre -boiled meat into the already cooking onions and ginger-garlic paste and continue stirring until they blend well

    Add your spices,followed by your tomato paste while stirring to mix it together

    Add the potatoes,stir it and then cover to allow the potatoes to cook

    Once the potatoes are partially cooked add in pre-soaked rice(soak 10mins prior) and give it a stir until the rice adopts the colour of the spices

    Add in the measured water and allow it to cook on low heat to ensure they evenly cook.

  7. 7

    Wait for the water to dry up,then serve while hot and enjoy with a banana and kachumbari
