Ingredients

  1. 1 cupSambar rava
  2. 1onion
  3. 3green chillies
  4. 1small piece ginger
  5. 1 table spoongroundnut oil
  6. 1/4 teaspoonmustard seeds
  7. 1/2 teaspoonurad dal
  8. 1 teaspoonchana dal
  9. Curry leaves
  10. Coriander leaves
  11. 1 table spooncoconut oil
  12. 1 teaspoonghee

Cooking Instructions

    Take a cup of sambar rava.Chop onion, green chillies, ginger and coriander leaves. Keep all ingredients ready to make wheat upma.

    Keep a fry pan on medium heat. Add oil, mustard seeds, urad dal, chana dal and curry leaves.Fry till golden brown. Then add chopped onion, green chillies and ginger, saute till onion turns transparent.Add three cups of water.Let it boil, add the samba rava and salt.

    Mix well and close with a lid for five minutes. Remove the lid, add chopped coriander leaves.

    Give a quick mix. Add one table spoon of coconut oil. Mix well. Remove from heat. Super sambar rava upma is ready to serve.

    Transfer to a serving plate. Serve hot with,ghee pickle, banana and curd.

    This samba wheat upma is very famous in Tamilnadu especially in coimbatore. It's very healthy and tasty. Enjoy.
