Gajar Halwa is the ultimate winter must-have recipe known for its rich, creamy, and decadent texture! This Classic Indian dessert is made with carrots, milk, khoya/mawa, ghee, and sugar. But I want to make the halwa healthier and guilt-free. So I sweetened this halwa with Raw Honey and the taste was really scrumptious.

Ingredients

  1. 500 gmsfresh carrots
  2. 3 tspghee
  3. 100 gmsmawa/khoya
  4. 1 cupmilk
  5. 2cardamom, crushed
  6. 2 tbspchopped dry nuts (almond, pistachios, cashews)
  7. 3-4 tbspHoney or as per taste

Cooking Instructions

    Firstly rinse, peel and grate all carrots.

  2. 2

    Heat ghee in a heavy Kadai and add grated carrots mix carrots and ghee well. Keep the flame on low.
    Cover and cook it for 12-15 minutes or till carrots become soft, stir often.

    Further, add mawa and milk. Mix well and continue to cook on low flame, Cook till the milk gets thickened or about 8-10 min.

    Then add chopped dry nuts and cardamom powder. Combined everything well and for another 4-5 minutes.

    Now add Honey, you can add more or less Honey as per your taste. Mix very well and turn off the flame.
    Halwa is ready.

    Serve hot or at room temperature. Enjoy this delicious dessert guilt-free 😊.
