Indonesian Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice) with chicken Indonesian Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice) with chicken
Fried Rice or Nasi Goreng is Indonesia's most popular dish which could be served as breakfast, lunch, and dinner - basically any time of the day. The main ingredients are rice and spices. Vegetables and flesh are optionally added according to one's taste. There are a lot of variations and you will probably get different tastes from different chefs using the same ingredients! 😉It is believed that this dish was invented to make use of leftover rice which people didn't want to throw away. And I do believe that the most delicious fried rice I've ever had was made out of leftover rice, by my father. On this recipe, however, I am using freshly cooked rice. I find basmati rice the most suitable rice to be used for this dish since the texture is a bit dry and loose. Berlian Utami -
