Beef stew served with fresh veggies

I've used only potatoes for the stew but you don't have to be restricted only beef and potatoes. You can use carrots, tapioca, squash or any vegetable you wish to use. I like my stew thick and I like using spices to give it a little Indian 😉

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Heat little oil in a skillet and stir fry the beef for 10mins in high flame. Add salt and soy sauce. (Do not add water) Tips: make sure all the beef chunks get enough room to get really brown, flavour comes from a good sear.
- 2
In another pan fry the potatoes and other vegetables (except bell pepper and shallots). Add all the spices. Stir fry it for 5mins, toss the beef, ass 5 cups of water (enough to cover all the meat, add more if you like your stew soupy) close the lid and cook it in medium high flame for 60 minutes.
- 3
Add the shallots and bell pepper with about 10 minutes in cooking time left so that they don't get mushy.
- 4
Serve hot with your favorite salad and bread . I love eating my beef stew with salad and fresh fenugreek leaves, basil and carrots.

BEEF STEW - OLD RECIPE BEEF STEW - OLD RECIPE
I made this for my parents for dinner 40 plus years ago. They both wanted to know what I used for thickening. It turns out it was the way I cut the potatoes and floured the beef before I browned it. My Dad loved my stew! Needless to say, I've been making stew the same way ever since and never without thinking about my Dad. . . "Good times around the family table". sandra53 -
Instant Pot Beef Stew Instant Pot Beef Stew
Mina loves beef stew in the winter because it makes her think of her native chorba. I love Mina all the time because she is the love of my life. This is the simplest version of an instant pot beef stew I could come up with. Honestly the hominy is the only “interesting” part. But this dish isn’t trying to be interesting. It is trying to be warm, filling, and easy to cook.¡Buen Provecho!SK Scott Kane -

It’s funny... I made some chili last week. As I was thinking in my head, “What the hell goes in chili”? I started saying, “Wait, no. This is sounding like a beef stew”. So... I decided to make a beef stew now. It’s cold now and these dishes warm the soul. I never appreciated beef stew when I was younger. But I realize how fine of a dish it is in my older age haha. Karl -
