Oats Semolina Uttapam with idli and Sambhar

Uttapam and sambhar are a delicious combination... to make the uttapam even more healthier and quicker .. I made them with Oats,Rava and yogurt loaded with veggies.Sambhar is also made with instant method.

Ingredients

  1. Uttapam
  2. 1/2 cupOats
  3. 1/2 cupFine semolina (rava)
  4. 1cupYogurt
  5. As per taste Salt
  6. 2 cupsVeggies,(carrot,capsicum,onion,tomatoes,fresh coriander)
  7. as requiredOil for greasing
  8. Sambhar
  9. 2 cupToor dal
  10. As per taste Salt
  11. 1 tspTurmeric
  12. 1small Bottle gourd
  13. 2Tomatoes
  14. 1large Onion
  15. 2-3Red dried chillies
  16. HandfulCurry leaves
  17. 4 tbsp Tamarind pulp
  18. 1/2 tbsp Mustard seeds
  19. 2 tablespoonOil
  20. PinchAsafoteida (hing)
  21. 1 tablespoon/as per taste Sambhar masala
  22. Idli
  23. 1/2 cupremaining Batter of uttapam
  24. as required Idli steamer
  25. PinchBaking soda

Cooking Instructions

    Grind the oats in a fine powder.

    Add in the yogurt, semolina and oats in a bowl. Mix well and let it rest.

    Meanwhile we will make the sambhar. For that, first boil the veggies and dal with salt and turmeric.

    Get the things ready for tempering the sambhar.

  5. 5

    Heat up oil in a wok. Add in aisefotoeda and mustard seeds. Let them splatter. Then add the dried red chilies and curry leaves.

    Pour in the boiled dal and veggies to it.

    Add the sambhar masala and tamarind pulp.let it cook for 2to3 mins. Sambhar is ready.

    Lets get back to uttapams. Get the veggies ready.

    Heat up the skillet. Grease with oil. Spread the batter on it.

    Sprinkle the veggies on top and let it cook until bottom turns golden brown and the top seems raw from nowhere.

    Flip it and cook the other side as well. The same batter is used to make idlis too but additionally you will need to put some baking soda in it before steaming them.

    Your Uttapam,Sambhar and idlis are ready. Serve hot and enjoy !!!
