Ingredients

  1. 3 cupscoarse semolina
  2. 1 cupflour
  3. 2 tablespoonssugar
  4. 2 tablespoonsnigella seeds
  5. 2 tablespoonssesame seeds
  6. 2 tablespoonsmilk
  7. 1 tablespoonyeast
  8. 1 teaspoonbaking powder
  9. 1 tablespoonanise seeds
  10. 1/2 cupfenugreek seeds, boiled twice and drained
  11. 1 cupolive oil
  12. 1 cupfenugreek water (boil once, discard the water, and use the new water)
  13. Pinchsalt
  14. For the syrup:
  15. 3 cupssugar
  16. 2 cupswater
  17. Slicelemon

Cooking Instructions

    Combine the semolina, flour, sesame seeds, nigella seeds, yeast, sugar, salt, baking powder, milk, and the twice-boiled and drained fenugreek seeds. Mix well.

    Knead with olive oil and fenugreek water, then let rest for 1 1/2 hours.

    In a greased baking pan, spread the mixture, cut it, let it rest for another 30 minutes, and bake. Once the edges are golden, broil the top, then pour the prepared (cold) syrup over it. Use all the syrup. Enjoy!
