I love it coz it's my grandmother's favourite and all of grannies cookings are sweet and lovely. I can't just have enough of it. Whenever I wrong my grandma, I always make sure to prepare this dish for her just to please her, and it surely works.

Like many people, I have a weak spot for good fried chicken. And from among the major outlets, my favourite is Popeye's. Honestly, though, it's not their delicious chicken alone that puts them over the top; it's their red beans and rice. Something about that little side dish of smushed beans and savoury sauce soaking into fluffy rice just speaks to me. So I decided to make my own. I didn't try to make an exact copy, and mine's also a little less watery than theirs (my only nitpick). But I think it came out just as delicious and comforting at the end.

The price and affordability is the only reason I use vegetable oil. I absolutely will not use canola oil as it does indeed cause heart lesions over a period of years of use.

This is a dish that I loved cook for my kids on they loved it.

I usually prepare breakfast at home for my child before school. This meal consists of brown rice noodles with beef, accompanied by brown rice milk and sweet potatoes. There are so many ways to make this. Sometimes I add rice before water, sometimes after. Sometimes I add peppers sometimes I don't. You will find what works best for your stove & tastes.
