Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsdiced vegetables
  2. 1/4-1/2 cuptur daal
  3. 1/2onion slit into 3 pieces
  4. 1small tomatoe slit into 3 pieces
  5. 2green chillies
  6. 1-2 strandscurry leaves chopped
  7. 1 hand full coriander leaves
  8. 1-2 tbspcoriander powder
  9. 2-3 tbspSambhar powder
  10. 1small piece of Hing(asafoetida) as seen in pic
  11. to tasteSalt
  12. 1 tbsptamarind pulp soaked In water
  13. For seasoning:
  14. 1-2 tbspnoil
  15. 1/2 tspmustard seeds
  16. 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  17. 1/2 tspnfenugreek seeds
  18. 2red chillies
  19. 4-5 podsgarlic slit or crushed
  20. 1 strandcurry leaf

Cooking Instructions

    Ingredients pic:

    Add diced vegetables, daal, green chillies, onion, tomatoes, curry leaves, coriander leaves to the cooker

  3. 3

    Add 1-2 tbsp coriander powder, 1 tbsp Sambhar powder, hing and Salt

  4. 4

    Add 2 cups of water,close the lid of the cooker cook till 1 whistle, let it cool

  5. 5

    Open the lid, stir and add tamarind water to it, stir well

  6. 6

    Add rest of the sambar powder.,stir well. Add salt if required and let boil for 5-10 min in low flame.

    Switch Off the flame and keep aside.

    Now take a seasoning vessel.Add 2 tbsp oil and add mustard seeds. let it splutter.

    Add cumin seeds and fenugreek seeds as per the measures.

    Now add red chillies, slit garlic pods and curry leaves and saute for a min in low flame till garlic turn light brown

  11. 11

    Now pour the seasoning to the cooked sambar, garnish with coriander leaves,serve hot
