Ingredients

  • 2chicken legs
  • 2onions
  • 1/4red bell pepper
  • 1/2Italian green pepper
  • 1/2lemon zest
  • 20fresh basil leafs
  • 1 cancoconut milk
  • 1/2 cupolive oil
  • MIX of SPICES:
  • 1 teaspoonsalt
  • 1 tspgrounded coriander
  • 1 tspred paprika (hot or sweet, your choice)
  • 1 tspblack pepper
  • 1/2 tspcumin powder
  • 1/4 tspcinnamon powder
  • 1/4 tspginger powder
  • 2-3cloves
  • 2-3seeds of cardamom
  • 4-5garlic cloves in thin slices

Steps

  1. 1

    Boil the chicken legs and then put aside the meat without skin and bones.

  2. 2

    Cut the onions in half slices (not too thin) and the bell pepper and the green pepper in cubes.

  3. 3

    Heat the oil in a large pan and add the onions and after 2 minutes add the peppers. Mix well all the time.

  4. 4

    After 3 minutes of high fire and mixing, add the mixture of spices and mix one more minute.

  5. 5

    Add now the meat, mix a bit and add the coconut milk also.

  6. 6

    When boiling again, lower the fire, cover the pan and let them cook for about 10 minutes.

  7. 7

    Stop the fire and add the basil leafs and the lemon zest, stir a bit then cover back.

  8. 8

    Serve hot with well drained long rice!
