Pre heat the oven and get all ingredients ready.

Put all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well. The sugar might seem much but it balances out because of the unsweetened cocoa powder.

Add in the egg, water, buttermilk, oil and vanilla and mix together. This has a very runny consistency so dont worry.

Oil and flour a ten inch pan then pour in the cake mix and bake for 30 minutes. When the cake is done, bring it out of the oven and leave to cool for 15 minutes before attempting to remove it from the pan.
