Slice the beef into thin pieces. Marinate with garlic juice, black pepper, sugar, MSG, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and five-spice powder for about 15–20 minutes.

Roast the peanuts until crispy, remove the skins, and split them in half. Slice the shallots thinly and fry until golden.

Pick and wash the fresh vegetables, then drain. Slice the cucumber and arrange on a plate.

Arrange the beef on a grill rack and cook in the oven, on an electric grill, or over hot charcoal. Grill until the beef firms up (do not overcook or it will become tough). Place the grilled beef on a plate and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and fried shallots.
