Soak and clean the white chickpea overnight.

Next day strain the water then add soda and rest for 20 minutes in the meantime make masala for chanay.

Now heat the pot add oil and onions sauté then add ginger garlic paste stir it than add zeera, all the spices and tomato and make a gravy stir it well.

Now add the soda chanay (don’t wash chanay after applying soda) mix it well.

Now make a stock with knorr cube and add 1 1/2 glass water and boiled it.

Now add the hot yakni water in chanay and simmer it then cover the half lid.

Next cook the chanay for 40 minutes.

Inthe mean while check the chanay if it is tender than take out in bowl/ plate and garnishing with green chilli and Coriander, at the end add crush black pepper sprinkle on chikkar chanay.

A dadi style chikkar chanay is ready to serve, eat with naan / rice / roti.

It depends that you want to eat thick gravy in chikkar chanay then evaporated the water if you want to make shorba than add water.
