Rich Buttermilk-style White Chocolate Pies

My mother made some delicious chocolate pies and I thought that they would probably taste great with white chocolate too.
They have the taste and richness of a buttermilk pancake, making them completely satisfying.
Try making them for Valentine's Day.

Please check on them occasionally to make sure they don't burn!

When pushing the crusts together with the chopstick, don't push too hard.

If there isn't enough space between the chocolates, roll out both crusts to make them larger.

Don't add too much water to the egg yolk or it will be difficult to spread onto the pies, plus the glaze won't come out so well. Be careful! Recipe by Myuu samada

Ingredients

  1. 2sheets Pie crust
  2. 1bar White chocolate
  3. Glaze
  4. 1Egg yolk
  5. 1 dashWater

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Roll the pie crust out until slightly bigger than the original size.

  2. 2

There should be this difference in size when rolled out. Poke holes into the crust with a fork. (The non-rolled crust already has holes, so you don't have to make any.)

  3. 3

Line up the squares of white chocolate on the crust, leaving space in between each one.

  4. 4

Cover with the other pie crust and use a chopstick to seal the edges.

  5. 5

Push down the crust tightly between the chocolates both vertically and horizontally.

  6. 6

    It should be like this.

  7. 7

Use a pie cutter to cut out the pies.

  8. 8

    They should look like this.

  9. 9

Pinch the edges so that the chocolate won't ooze out.

  10. 10

Combine the scraps, roll them out, and prick holes with a fork.

  11. 11

Make as much as you can.

  12. 12

    They should look like this.

  13. 13

Mix just a little bit of water with egg yolk and brush onto the surface of the pies.

  14. 14

Bake for 15 minutes in a preheated 180-200℃ oven. Check on them halfway through.

  15. 15

Serve these pies with coffee or tea! You can let them cool if you'd like to have the chocolate a bit more firm, but they're also delicious when eaten piping hot.
