Steps

Wash rice and soak for 10 mins. Soak the tamarind in hot water.

Dry roast the ingredients one by one as above. Let it cool

Cook the rice. Squeeze the tamind juice and keep aside. Allow the cooked rice to cool.

Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard, urad dal, chana dal, red chillies, peanuts one by one.

Allow mustard to splutter and dhals to fry. Slowly add tamarind juice, turmeric powder and curry leaves. Allow it to boil.

Meanwhile powder the dry ingredients in a mixie.

Add salt as required and a piece of jaggery. Allow the oil to squeeze out. Now the paste for tamarind rice is ready.

Now mix the rice and tamarind paste together. If required add salt as per your taste.
