I love kinako mochi, but it's troublesome to bake or steam. I came up with this easy method to prepare it.

Cut the sliced mochi into 6 even cubes.

Pour water in a bowl. Add the mochi and microwave it for 1 minute at 600 W.

Combine the kinako, sugar, and salt in a separate bowl. Add Step 2 mochi to the bowl after draining, coat with the kinako mixture.

Coat twice with the kinako mixture, and it's done.
