#Cooksnap Challenge - Rice & Shine
Steps
- 1
First of all, wash the rice thoroughly and soak it in 3 cups of water for 1/2 hour.
Before making the pulao, take out the water in which the rice was soaked in a separate pot and keep it for heating. Always use hot water in pulao. Never use cold water in pulao, it will make the pulao sticky and not fluffy.
- 2
Put all the spices on the rice.
Heat ghee in a pan and add cumin seeds. When the cumin seeds start crackling, add asafoetida and all the whole spices. When it gets fried a little, add cashew pieces. When it turns light pink, add badis.
Now add rice, mix it well with a light hand and add hot water and raisins. Here you can adjust the spices by tasting the water of the pulao. Reduce the flame, put the lid on and let it cook. The pulao will be ready in 5-7 minutes.
- 3
Turn off the gas and let the pulao become juicy. After 1/2 hour the pulao is ready to eat.
- 4
Note... Do not dry all the water in the badi pulao, let it remain a little, this makes the pulao very good.
Badiya... You must be knowing that it is made by washing, soaking and grinding moong dal.
This pulao is made a lot in Rajasthan during winters.
