This is simple yet flavourful kerala dish made with spinach and fresh coconut.

Wash and chopped palak. Remove water from palak.

Grind fresh coconut. Combine with turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin coriander powder and garlic pods in a mixture jar.

Grind the mixture to a coarse powder paste as shown. Heat oil in a kadai. Add mustard seeds.

Mustard seeds splutter, add chopped palak and salt. Add less salt since spinach already has some salt content. Add the ground coconut mixture to this. Combine the palak and coconut mixture well.

Add Little water and mix well.

Cook it for 5 to 8 minutes. Don't cover it. After that palak thoran is ready to eat. It's a side dish along with hot rice.
