Soak black chickpeas overnight. Pressure cook them with enough water and a little salt until soft (about 3-4 whistles).

Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds. Once they splutter, add urad dal, dry red chilies, curry leaves, and a pinch of hing.

Add the boiled chana to this seasoning. Mix well and saute for a few minutes.

Finally, add grated coconut and chopped green chili. Toss gently and turn off the flame.

Offer it as naivedyam to Lord Ganesha and then serve as prasadam.
