Ingredients

  1. 3-4ripe kerala banana/nendrapazham/ethapazham
  2. 1/2 cupcoconut grated
  3. 1/2 tspcrushed cardamom seeds
  4. 2-3 tspsugar
  5. 2 tsprice flour
  6. 4 tbspghee

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Use ripe or overly ripe bananas. Steam them for 5 minutes until soft. Alternatively pressure cook them for 1 whistle without removing the skin.

  2. 2

Once cooled peel the skin off and mash the banana well with the back of a spoon/masher /or even clean hands.

  3. 3

Add sugar, crushed cardamom seeds and rice flour into and mix everything well. Mix shouldn't have any water content. Add more rice flour if you feel moisture in the mix

  4. 4

Make small portions out of this mix and shape as per your wish.

  5. 5

Heat a pan with 2 tbsp ghee and once its hot, place the banana rolls and shallow fry them until golden brown. Do not over fry them. And do not deep fry in ghee*

  6. 6

This healthy snack can be given for toddlers(above 1.5 yrs) and kids as it has the goodness of ghee and Kerala Nendran Banana.

  7. 7

Replace sugar with jaggery if you want to make it more healthier
