Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 350 gramskale, washed
  2. 1 tbspoil (olive oil/coconut oil)
  3. 1small onion, minced
  4. 2 clovesgarlic, minced
  5. 1/2 cupvegetable stock/water
  6. to tastesalt & pepper
  7. 1 tbspbalsamic vinegar
  8. crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

    NOTE: Remove stems from kale leaves, then roughly chop them.

  2. 2

    Heat choice of oil in large saucepan over medium heat.

    Note: I choose to use coconut oil for the lovely taste it adds to the dish but olive oil works fine. :)

  3. 3

    If red pepper flakes is used, add them to the hot oil and allow to sizzle for about 30 seconds or so.

  4. 4

    On low heat, stir fry the garlic and onion. Allow to soften (BUT DO NOT BROWN)!

  5. 5

    Raise the heat to medium high. Add kale and toss to coat in oil evenly. Add stock/water and stir-fry the kale evenly for about 1-2 mins.

  6. 6

    Lower the heat. Cover and cook for about 3-4 minutes until the leaves turn bright green.

  7. 7

    Remove cover and continue to cook & stir until almost all the liquid have evaporated.

  8. 8

    Season with salt & pepper (go easy on the salt if stock is used!)

  9. 9

    Add balsamic vinegar to the dish and allow to cook for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.

  10. 10

    Plate & serve. Goes well with white rice or even by itself! :)

I got some baby turnips from the market with nice leaves so I tried this recipe with them! It was so yummy! I loved the little splash of vinegar at the end 〜★ thank you ^^
