Preheat oven to 350°F.

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper and butter the foil or parchment.

Combine the sugar and water in a medium saucepan over medium heat.

Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar.

Boil without stirring for 5 minutes and remove the pan from the heat.

Add the peanuts and let stand 5 minutes, stirring often.

Drain the peanuts and return them to the saucepan.

Stir in the wasabi paste and salt.

Then spread the peanuts in an even layer on the prepared pan.

Bake for 15 minutes, stirring twice, until golden brown.

Cool completely in the pan, then toss with wasabi peas and crackers.
