Ingredients

15 minutes
6 servings
  1. 1/2 cupFinger millet flour /Ragi
  2. 1 tablespoonWhole Wheat Flour
  3. 2Potatoes / Aloo boiled and mashed
  4. 1/4 teaspoonsesame seeds /til
  5. 1/4 teaspoonRed Chilli powder
  6. 1/4 tsp or to taste Salt
  7. 1 PinchAsafoetida / Hing
  8. 1 cupoil for frying

Steps

  1. 1

    Peel and mash the boiled potatoes in a bowl and add the ragi flour, wheat flour and all the spices.

  2. 2

    Knead well, and if required add lukewarm water and make a medium soft dough.

  3. 3

    Make 6 lemon sized balls from the dough.

  4. 4

    Dust the balls with dry flour and roll each one to make medium thick pooris.

  5. 5

    Heat oil in a deep pan.

  6. 6

    When oil becomes hot then gently slide in the rolled pooris in the pan and press with the spatula to help it puff properly.

  7. 7

    Flip it over and fry from the other side until golden brown in colour and crisp
