Living on a budget ham soup

Living on a budget due to unemployment, one has to find ways to make good meals. Asked for the ham bone at a church function, and they purposefully left ham on the bone for me! Blessing!

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cover ham bone with water & let cook for 1 hour
- 2
After ham is done, cool before pulling ham off bone and placing back in water. (You can save bone & scraps for pea soup)
- 3
Rince the beans & add to pot. Add chicken seasoning too. Continue cooking to soften beans - I cooked 1 hour.
- 4
Add salt & pepper or any herb/spice you desire to taste

Leftover Ham and Lentil Soup Leftover Ham and Lentil Soup
Got some leftover roast ham? Sick of ham sandwiches? Make this soup! Here’s the long version for inspiration, but you can happily cut out half these steps (eg frying the ham, puréeing half the lentils, etc.) and it would still be delicious, hearty, and an economical winter warmer. Use whatever root veggies you’ve got on hand. Add any dairy/green veg/lemon right near the end. Katherine -

Economical Pre-Pay Day Pork Soup Economical Pre-Pay Day Pork Soup
I got the idea for this miso soup from the miso ramen that's popular in my home region. The onion and bean sprouts will be crispier if you don't stir-fry them for too long. A drizzle of soy sauce at the very end really rounds out the flavor. So if you're adding miso, go easy on the soy sauce amount so the end result won't be too salty. For 2 servings.
