Steps

Wash and boil the daal

As it is half boiled add rice and boil

In the mean time heat a pan add oil

Temper cumin seed bay leaf and red chilli whole

Add ginger paste and saute well

Add tomato, cumin-coriander powder saute well adding salt and turmeric powder

As oil separates add this into the pot boiling daal and rice

Mix well and add sugar
- 9
Serve it with fried vegetables or papad and chhutney
