A soft, yeast based bread baked and slathered with herbed butter while hot. Enjoyed as a side to a meal or delicious on it's own.
Steps

Place dry ingredients (flour, sugar, salt dried herbs, paprika and yeast) in the bowl of a stand mixer. Whisk till blended.

In a small bowl mix milk, water and oil. Gradually add water to the mixer with dough hook attached till dough form into a ball.
Knead with mixer for 5 mins till smooth. - 3
Place in an oiled bowl and allow to rest till double in size. (1 hour).

Divide each part into 3, roll into long sausage shapes, pinch ends together and braid loosely as you would for a plait.

Leave in a low heat oven till risen, at least 30-40mins. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with seeds or herbs.

Remove from oven and brush with melted butter. Cover with a clean dishcloth till cooled.

Punch down. Divide into two.

Bake at 180°C for 15-17 mins till golden brown.
