Ingredients

  1. 2 cupWhole Wheat Flour / Atta
  2. 300 gmGrated Bottle Gourd / Lauki
  3. 1 tspSesame Seeds / Til
  4. 1/4 tspAsafoetida / Hing
  5. 1/4 tspCarom Seeds / Ajwain
  6. 1 tspGreen Chilli Paste
  7. 1/2 tspRed Chilli Powder / Lal Mirchi
  8. 1/4 tspTurmeric Powder / Haldi
  9. 3 tspCurd / Yogurt / Dahi
  10. 1 tspSalt
  11. 3 tspOil
  12. as requiredWater for Kneading
  13. as required Oil for Roasting

Cooking Instructions

    In a large mixing bowl, add 2 cup of Whole Wheat flour (Atta) and 300 gm of grated Bottle Gourd (Lauki).

    Now add 1 tsp of Sesame Seeds(Til), 1/4 tsp of Asafoetida (Hing), 1/4 tsp of Carom Seeds (Ajwain), 1 tsp of Green Chilli Paste, 1/2 tsp of Red Chilli Powder (Lal Mirch), 1/4 tsp of Turmeric Powder (Haldi), 3 tsp of Curd (Dahi), 1 tsp of Salt, 3 tsp of Oil in a mixing bowl.

    Mix it well and add Water as required to knead the soft dough.

    Take small portion of the dough and start to roll into round five to six inch thin Thepla by dusting dry flour on the surface.

    Now put the Thepla on preheated tawa and roast it with 2 tsp of Oil from both the sides on medium flame.

  6. 6

    If required with the help of masher slightly press Thepla and roast from both the sides.

  7. 7

    In a similar way, make all the Theplas and serve hot with Yogurt (Dahi) or Pickle.
