This recipe is amazing. You can change you protein, veggies, types of cheese to whatever you have on hand and because you don’t need a crust, it’s easy! If you adjust the ingredients, make sure you adjust your cooking accordingly. For example, instead of bacon, use ham or even turkey and you’d add it directly to your baking dish with the cooked onions.

Cool bacon until crispy. Drain the grease from the pan but don’t wipe it out

Melt butter. Caramelize onions. This will take about 10 min. They’re done when soft and translucent. Add any other veggies toward the end of cooking the onions

Preheat oven to 390. Butter pie or quiche dish.

Once the onions are done, put them on the bottom of your baking dish and crumble the bacon on top and add the tomatoes. Set aside and make custard

Custard- to the milk and cream, add the flour slowly, whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Once ite’s smooth, add spices, eggs, cheese. Mix until combined. Add salt and pepper to taste

Add your egg custard over your bacon and veggies in your baking dish. Throw half your chives on top

Bake at 390 for 30-40 min or until it is firm.
Garnish with the rest of your chives
Serve hot or at room temperature- I prefer hot
