Bulalo

Learned from my mom. Just enhanced a bit according to my taste. A favorite Sunday meal when I was young. I guess a Filipino tradition.

Once meat is tender after boiling, put kamote and saba banana. Boil for about 5 mins.

Your bulalo is done. Make sure to serve as soon as you put vegetables as it will wilt.

Beef Kaldereta Beef Kaldereta
This is my daughter's favorite dish. She loves it when my mom would make this. Since we live so far from my mom we always had to order this from a Filipino restaurant but it never taste the same. Beef Bulgogi (불고기) Beef Bulgogi (불고기)
Here's my own bulgogi recipe. Any thinly sliced cut of beef can be used (this time I used brisket/short plate), and the recipe works with pork or even chicken. Korean nashi pears have a flavour that is kinda halfway between a regular pear and an apple so an apple like a red gala can be a reasonable substitute. It's used to tenderise the meat, but it takes time to work... I initially tried to cook it after only one hour and the meat was still quite tough. Maybe pineapple might be more effective but I hear one needs to be careful with it. 🇰🇷 蛟龍Stormwyrm -
Pork Monggo Pork Monggo
A budget-friendly dish as it does not require a lot of ingredients. You can also remove the pork and just use dried or smoked fish, like dilis/anchovies, or tinapa to stretch your budget even more. That's why a lot of Filipino moms (or dads) have this on the menu during Fridays or later part of the week. And if you don't include pork (which can also be replaced by chicken), you can also serve this during the Holy Week. Missus C -

Filipino beef curry Filipino beef curry
Filipino curry was one of my favourite dishes growing up. Traditionally the protein is chicken, but I chose to make mine with beef. Specifically, brisket. The long cooking time required by the meat allowed the flavours to deepen, and the potatoes to turn soft and silky. Following family tradition, I used ready-made, generic supermarket curry powder. Feel free to use a blend such as masala. The proportions below may vary depending on the strength of your curry powder. Robert Gonzal -
Ground Beef Soboro Ground Beef Soboro
Lightly flavoured chicken soboro is good, but we've eaten beef soboro in my family for a long time. Season it well, and top on the rice. It's great for a tri-coloured rice bowl!I uploaded this recipe to so it would be easy for me to remember how to recreate my favorite sweet and salty flavour. If you mix the ingredients before cooking, it will become crumbly instead of being lumpy. Lamb - Osso Buco Style Lamb - Osso Buco Style
This delicious northern Italian style meal is very easy to prepare. It's slow-cooked in the oven with a “hint of mint” in a vegetable sauce which compliments the meat. When served, it rivals most restaurant dinner plates. It's my signature dish. Serve with polenta, wide flat noodles, or along-side a portion of Italian risotto (recipe is published). Buon Appetito!
