Makes nice idli, but I prefer idlis from the other batters I have been making. I found these idlis a bit hard/rubbery as compared to the other methods.
If you want to make idlis for dinner, soak the grains on the previous day morning, grind at night and let the batter ferment overnight and the next day till dinner.

If you want to make idlis for dinner, soak the grains on the previous day morning, grind at night and let the batter ferment overnight and the next day till dinner.

Wash rice till the water is ear. Wash udad dal 3 times. Soak them Separately. Add fenugreek seeds in dal. Soak for minimum 6 hrs.

Soak poha at the time of grinding. Discard water from rice whereas keep the water from dal for grinding.

Grind the dal. Then grind rice along with poha. Combine everything in a big vessel. Mix well using your hands. Beat for 5 min.

Leave the batter to ferment overnight and a whole day. Mix the batter, add a little water. Check the video for the consistency of the batter for idli. Add salt. Combine well and make idlis as normal.
You may add ¼ tsp soda if you wish. But make sure that the batter is not thinner than what is shown in the pic otherwise the idlis will be flat.
