Vazhaipoo Cutlet is a delicious, healthy sallow fried snack prepared using banana flower.
Steps

Cleaned, chopped the banana flower.Then soak in turmeric powder for 10 minutes.

Strain the chopped banana flower from turmeric water & steam it in a pressure cooker for 2,3 whistles.Cool & strain it on a strainer.

Fry the chopped coconuts in a kadai to golden brown & keep aside.

Then in the same oil add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cloves, cinnamon sticks,Cardamom pods, splitted green chillies & saute for 1,2 minutes till the aroma comes out.

Now add the coconut paste & saute for 1,2 minutes.Then add ginger paste,cumin powder, salt, sugar,turmeric powder & cook till the raw smell is gone & oil separates.

Now add the steamed banana flowers & saute for a few minutes.Add the boiled potatoes & mix well.Add some like warm water & stir well.

Cover with a lid & cook it for another few minutes.

Switch off the flame, dizzle some ghee on the top.

Mix 1 tsp besan with the cooked banana flower & make small flatten balls & give the shape of cutlets / koftas.

Then rolled them on sesame seeds & shredded coconut.

On a nonstick tawa take oil & shallow fry the cutlets / koftas.Now the delicious, healthy banana blossoms koftas/ cutlets are ready to serve.

Serve them on a serving plate & enjoy.
