Ingredients

  1. 2 bowlcut turai
  2. 1 bowltuvar dal
  3. 1/2 bowlmoong dal
  4. 2 tablespoonmasoor dal
  5. 2medium size onion
  6. 1medium size tomato
  7. 2green chillies
  8. 10-12curry leaves
  9. 3cloves
  10. 5-6garlic cloves
  11. 1 inchginger
  12. 2 teaspoonsalt
  13. 1 teaspoonturmeric powder
  14. 2 teaspoonred chilli powder
  15. 1 teaspooncumin powder
  16. 2 teaspooncoriander powder
  17. 1 teaspooncumin seeds
  18. 1 teaspoonmustard seeds
  19. 1 pinchasafoetida
  20. 3 teaspoongaram masala
  21. 2 tablespoonoil
  22. 1 tablespoonpeanuts

Cooking Instructions

    Wash all dals properly, transfer to cooker, add onion,tomato,cloves,curry leaves, turmeric powder,peanuts and take 3 whistles, simmer for 5 minutes.

    In the meantime, heat a kadai,add oil to it,once heated add mustard seeds, let it crackle, then add cumin seeds and asafoetida. Then add curry leaves onion and saute,add garlic and ginger paste, saute to remove rawness.

    Now add salt, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and saute for 2 to 3 minutes. Now add turai, cover it and allow to cook.

    Once the pressure is released, mash dals properly, for that remove extra water,you can add it later to adjust consistency.

    Now add it to turai and mix well and let it boil. Serve it with rice / roti.
