Mala BBQ Skewers

Mala is really popular right now! I searched for some great recipes, but since I only had some of the ingredients, I made do with what I could find. This recipe turned out pretty tasty, even though I'm still getting the hang of grilling. Thanks to Prince Coobaacook and Pey for the inspiration!

Steps
- 1
Prepare the ingredients for grilling. Cut them as desired and thread onto soaked bamboo skewers.
- 2
Mix the ground Sichuan peppercorns, ground cumin, chili powder, and salt until fragrant and slightly salty to taste. Place the hoisin sauce and chili garlic sauce in separate bowls.
- 3
Get everything ready. Pour a little oil into a small bowl for brushing during grilling.
- 4
Start grilling. Place the skewers on the grill and brush with oil. Grill until almost cooked through, then brush with hoisin sauce and grill a little longer. Sprinkle with the spice mix before serving. For eggplant, also brush with chili garlic sauce for extra flavor.
- 5
Enjoy the skewers hot off the grill! If you have any tips for making great mala BBQ, feel free to share!
