Ingredients

  • Meat
  • 1/2 lbMeat (mutton/chicken)
  • Vegetables
  • 3 mediumIrish Potatoes
  • 1/2 lbYellow Yam
  • 1/2 lbPumpkin
  • 1 largeCarrot
  • 1/2 lbSweet Potato
  • 2 smallDasheen
  • 1 smallcho-cho
  • 1 largecorn
  • Seasoning
  • 2 stickEscallion
  • 3 cloveGarlic
  • 4 stickThyme
  • 1 largeScotch Bonnet Pepper
  • 1 packagesSoup Stock
  • 10Pimento
  • 1 dashSalt (to taste)
  • 2 cupflour

Steps

  1. 1

    Cut up 1 clove garlic, 1 sprig escallion, 2 sticks escallion and season meat.

  2. 2

    Cut pumpkin into cubes and add to pot with meat

  3. 3

    Cook until meat is tender. Pumpkin should be very soft.

  4. 4

    Add water to flour and make approx 7 dumplings

  5. 5

    Add dumplings to meat and cook until they float.

  6. 6

    Cut up remaining vegetables and add to pot with some hot water.

  7. 7

    When vegetables are almost cooked through add remaining seasoning.

  8. 8

    Add soup stock and scotch bonnet pepper. Let simmer for 15 minutes.

  9. 9

    Pour into bowls and serve hot.
