Winter is here and markets are flooded with green leafy vegetables. One of them is everyone's favourite Methi. Thepla is soft Indian flatbread typically of Gujarati cuisine made with fresh methi leaves. Typically served for breakfast or lunch with plain yoghurt or Aam ka Aachar.

Ingredients

30 to 45 mins
10 pieces
  1. 2 cupsWheat flour
  2. 1/2 cup Besan/ gram flour
  3. 1/2 cup yoghurt
  4. 1 1/2 cup methi( fenugreek ( leaves
  5. Handfulcoriander leaves
  6. 2-3green chillies
  7. 1 teaspoonkashmiri Red chilli powder
  8. 1/4 teaspoonHaldi/ turmeric powder
  9. pinchAjwain) Carom seeds
  10. 1 teaspooncoriander powder
  11. 1 Teaspoongaram masala
  12. 1/2 teaspoonCumin/ jeera powder
  13. as neededWarm Water to knead the dough
  14. as neededOil or ghee

Cooking Instructions

30 to 45 mins

    Take wheat flour, besan and yoghurt.

    Add methi leaves and all the masalas. Mix well. Knead the dough with warm water. Keep the dough aside for 15 to 20 mins.

    Now roll the theplas and put on tawa. Flip the side. Apply ghee or oil and roast it well.

    Serve hot with Aachar and tea.
