Today happens to be World Idli Day, and I realised that I have already uploaded my recipe for Idli on Cookpad, but haven't shred my favourite coconut chutney recipe till now 🙈

So here it goes 😋

Btw this recipe is simple, doesn't require as many ingredients, and goes beautifully well with idlis 🤤

Ingredients

  1. 1/2fresh coconut
  2. 2-3Green chillies
  3. 50 gramsCoriander leaves
  4. 1 inchginger
  5. As Per TasteSalt
  6. 2 tbspoil
  7. 7-8curry leaves
  8. 2-3dried red chillies
  9. 1 pinchasafoetida
  10. 1 tspmustard seeds

Cooking Instructions

    Bring all the ingredients together.

    Start by breaking open the coconut. Remove from the hard shell.

  3. 3

    Chop the coconut roughly and add to a blender.

  4. 4

    Add ginger, coriander, green chili, salt, and a little water. Blend till smooth.

    Transfer to a bowl. Now heat oil in a pan and combine mustard seeds, dried red chili, asafoetida, and curry leaves. Cook till mustard seeds splatter and then add the tempering to the coconut mixture.

    Mix in the tempering and your green coconut chutney is ready to be served.

    Serve cold with idli or dosa or uttapams. You can store the chutney in the refrigerator for 2-3 days easily.
